23 Photos to accompany The Poet’s Corner XIV, September 7, 2020. Note: When you get to the twenty-fourth photo, you’ll find yourself no longer in Kenosha, but at a poetry reading at The Edison Theatre, Mammoth Lakes, CA. in 2018, with then California poet laureate Dana Goiai, Chris Olander, Carne Lowgren, and me…. So that’s all for now, as Bugs might have said….
California Poet Laureate Visits Mono County Schools
Just received pictures from last Tuesday, May 15, at the Edison Theatre in Mammoth Lakes when Dana Gioia, California Poet Laureate, visited Mono County. He invited three of us California Poets in the Schools poets to read/recite our own poems before he recited his. He also spoke about poetry--how long people have been making it all over the world, its "value," how it is taught and received--and he led a Q & A with the community audience. Thanks, Dana!
